Make Up Tips for All Brides

On that special day we all want to look our best. I've read numerous books, blogs, websites on achieving that perfect look on your wedding day. It's interesting to find out what one may stumble upon. So I have sum up just a few pointers that we all should bare in mind.

Tan at least two days in advance if you're going to get a fake tan. Therefore, by the third day it will have settle and and be perfect.

Consider climate before applying make up. Especially for brides getting married in warmer climate, consider using oil-free products such as primers, moisturizers, foundation and oil-free blotting sheets.

The camera and lights tends to tone down your makeup so, play it up. Apply a little more that you would normally use. If you are going to be doing your own makeup, practice before the big day.

You would want to make sure that you cleanse and moisturise you face before applying a "Primer". You're going to have a long day ahead of you so this would me mandatory. Prime makes your foundation go on a bit smoother and last longer. Remember to apply your foundation with a sponge or brush. I prefer a brush because it tends to apply a bit more flawless.

Your moisturizer, primer and foundation are already going to even out your skin and cover imperfections, so applying foundation before concealer will leave you looking cakey. It is important that you use a different kind of concealer for your eyes than for your face. It should be something very creamy and emollient. A peach-base concealer would be preferable for the under eye.

You concealer choice would depend on what you are covering. If it's blemishes, red spot or broken capillaries, use an oil free pigmented thicker concealer with hints of yellow. Make sure to use a brush to apply you concealer so that really pinpoint the spot. Press gently and melt into the skin. Start thin you can always add more.

Using and eye shadow primer ensures smudge free makeup. A must when you're wearing all white.

For a all natural look, try a cream blush. It goes on sheer and looks healthy and fresh. If you want more staying power, layer a powder blush on top of it. You can apply blush just by smiling. When you smile the apple of your cheeks pops out. Place your blush right on the apple and blend to you temple.

An eyebrow pencil is a must have. Use and eye brow pencil to fill in your eyebrow, it frames your face and finishes the whole picture. A huge step that some women forget when they do their makeup.
TIP: Finding the right color for your eyebrow pencil, always go a shade or two lighter than your own natural eyebrow color.

Some MUA have considered that Cake Liner is a great product. Once applied it will last all day and won't budge. I have never tried it myself so I can't testify whether it has such staying power. A Pencil Liner can sometimes disappear, setting it with eye shadow can help it stay longer. Regardless of which eyeliner you decide to use, you would want to make your lash look fuller by filling in the roots of you lashes. It makes the eyes pop and the lash line look more plush.

Eye Enhancing makeup techniques. You want them too look big, bright and beautiful? Focus darker eye shadow on the outer side of eyes, using lighter and brighter as you work in so you don't close off your eyes. Always use a shimmer powder in the corner of you eyes before taking a photo. It will give you eyes that bright and awake look. If you happen to mess up on your eye makeup? Just apply a little makeup remover or eye cream on a Q-tip to clean up.

The best way to curl your lashes is at the root, the middle and tip. Don't clamp down on the curler, just press lightly. I highly recommend that all brides use fake eye lashes or for any special occasion where you'll be in pictures. It makes the eyes look big and captivating. When applying fake lashes always curl your  lash and add a coat of mascara before applying the fake lash. Allow the glue to dry then curl the lash again and apply another coat of mascara.
TIP: Cut and measure false eye lashes before you apply them, because you do not want them to extend past your natural lash line.

If you're worried you're going to cry on your special day, use waterproof products. Also use waterproof glue if you decide to wear false eyelash.

Do some prep work on your lips. Put some lip balm on your lips before lip gloss or lipstick so they're not dry or flaky. Fill in you entire lips will a lip pencil, the color will stay on longer.

Carry a few touch up in your makeup bag. Your lip color as it will wear out faster. If you use good quality face and primer everything else should stay in place. Oil blotting sheets and or translucent powder. Makeup can collect in the corner of your eye, so Q-tip is good t have at hand. Play it safe and aim to look like yourself.

I hope this information is as useful to you as is to me.

Until then...

Stay gorgeous and Happy Blogging :-)
