Fashion News: Christian Louboutin Cinderella Slipper

The glass slippers designed by Christian Louboutin in honor of Disney's Cinderella Diamond Edition were unveiled in Paris July 4, with the limited edition red-soled heels adorned in lace, sparkling butterflies and Swarovski crystals.

The shoes, which were first announced by Louboutin in April, were revealed Wednesday in Paris during Couture Fashion Week at a soiree at the Palais Brongniart and presented alongside images from the making of the original 1950 Disney animated film.

The limited edition shoe, which boasts the designer's trademark and highly coveted red-soled heels at 120 millimeters (that's almost five inches), is mostly see-through and made from white lace, Swarovski crystals and is highlighted with sparkling butterflies.

The designer will also be giving one U.S. fan  a free pair of the shoes of which only 20 will be made. Disney and Louboutin will announce more information on the shoe giveaway Aug. 17. No amount of money can by them, though -- the rest of the pairs are expected to be given away in other countries.
"Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairytale love, but also shoes," the designer said in a statement. "Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale."
